Riyadh: Al-Ittihad on Sunday secured their spot in the semi-finals of the King’s Cup with a 4-0 win over Al-Faisaly at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.
The victory put them alongside Al-Khaleej, Al-Hilal, and Al-Nassr in the last four of the competition.
Moroccan player Abderrazak Hamdallah scored the game’s opening goal, converting a penalty in the fourth minute of first half added time.
French midfielder N’Golo Kante hit a second on 54 minutes with a strong shot from outside the box, and Egyptian Ahmed Hegazi bagged a brace, netting in the 68th and 80th minutes.
Hamdallah now has three goals to his name in the competition, tying with Senegalese star Sadio Mane from Al-Nassr, and Al-Hilal’s Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. Yannick Carrasco of Al-Shabab currently tops the cup scoring list with four goals.
